Two self-styled vigilantes against typos who defaced a more than 60-year-old sign at Grand Canyon National Park were sentenced to probation and banned from national parks for a year.
Nelda..with all due respect, as an independent, I understand your frustration, however, please don't believe that a public option will be premium free. it can't be. There will still be claims to be paid and with the cost of rising health care annually, it's only going to get worse. when the recession is over, most economist predict that heavy inflation will be forth hand. If you really want to do something, reform Tort reform. This is the area where most people are ignorant too. i know several Doctors and I know that their malpractice insurance is about 1/3 of their practice cost. If we can get tort reform, cost of hospital and Dr's. care will drop dramatically. The president doesn't promote tort reform because he is a lawyer, his wife is a lawyer and the congress is full of lawyers. What we really need is campaign reform, limiting what can be contributed to a running candidates campaign fund. This would allow people like you and me,who live in the real world, a really good opportunity to really change things. You took a 12% pay cut, I know how tough that can be, but in the long run, Government insurance will cost you more, not only in premium but, also in tax dollars..Good luck and God bless!

Explain to me why it is the responsibility of your employer to pay for your health care? do they pay for your car insurance? do they pay for you home owners insurance? Employers began paying for health care as a bonus to attract and retain quality employees. now the it is the public opinion that it is the responsibility of the employee. it is not. it is YOUR responsibility to take care of you and your families health care. if your employers pays anything, you should be thankful. not out complaining about your pay. you have no idea the actual cost that employers all over the country pay for you and people like you. instead of complaining, start by thanking your employer for your job and providing you with health care. now, if you want to talk about the cost of health care....lets do it. The government has been running a health care program, called Medicare. what is your opinion of that? they have bankrupted that health care plan. what makes you think that they have any idea on how to run a health care plan? is the cost of health care getting out of control? yes. is the answer, a government sponsored plan? absolutely not. you think your income was cut by your employer? wait till you do your taxes following a government run health care plan. you will be paying over 50% of your income taxes. so, do you want to pay for a health care plan of your choice or be told...this is your health plan...take it or leave it. regardless of whether you take it or not, you will pay for it. we all will. so, think about the long term and not just about 12% pay cut. it will get much worse if the government takes over. would love to hear any responses you might have.
